COE prices close mixed in latest bidding exercise

SINGAPORE — Premiums ended mixed on Wednesday (April 20), marking the final Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding exercise for the current batch of COEs.
For Category A cars, or those 1600cc and below, with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums rose from S$46,009 to S$ 47,300.
Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B rose from S$47,000 to S$49,602.
Premiums for goods vehicles and buses saw a drop from S$$44,213 to S$43,002.
COE premiums for motorcycles slipped from S$6,503 to S$6,501.
In the Open category, which can be used for any vehicle type but is used typically for large cars, COE prices increased from S$47,510 to $49, 501.
A total of 7,203 bids were received this round for 4,246 certificates available for the bidding exercise.
From next month till July, 28,908 COEs will be available, or about 9,634 COEs a month, with the commercial vehicle and big car categories (Categories C and B, respectively) having the biggest increases in quota.
