Off-duty policeman killed in motorcycle accident along MCE, fellow officer arrested

SINGAPORE – A 33-year-old off-duty police officer was killed in an accident involving two motorcycles along the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) in the early hours of Friday morning (Nov 3).

A 27-year-old man, who is also an off-duty police officer, has been arrested for causing death by a negligent act.

The police was alerted to the accident at 5.13am which occurred along the MCE towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP) before the Central Boulevard exit.

The elder cop was pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene, while the other motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
