SINGAPORE — Last month saw a decline in both electronic and non-electronic exports, data by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore showed today (March 17). The decline was larger than the expected 0.4 per cent fall forecast from a Reuters poll of economists.
Non-oil domestic exports (NODX) fell by 9.7 per cent on-year last month, in contrast to the 4.3 per cent on-year growth the previous month.
The decline in non-electronic exports was due to a fall in petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and primary chemicals exports.
Electronic exports fell largely due to a decline in exports of Integrated Circuit (IC) parts, Personal Computer parts and ICs.
