Six arrested, S$150k worth of drugs seized in CNB bust

SINGAPORE — The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested six suspected drug offenders and seized about 2.1kg of heroin, ice and Erimin-5 on Tuesday. The seizure is estimated to be worth about S$150,000.
CNB officers also confiscated S$2,400 during the operation, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.
The suspects, four Singaporeans and two Malaysians, are between the ages of 23 and 61.
On Tuesday afternoon, CNB officers trailed a suspected drug trafficker, a 42-year-old Singaporean man, who picked up a 35-year-old male Singaporean suspect. Both men then went to a car park in the Changi area. The younger man later met the two Malaysian men, aged 23 and 27, at a coffee shop nearby. Shortly after, the Singaporean left with a bag and was nabbed by CNB officers. They seized about 1.36kg of heroin from the bag.
While raiding the man’s Changi Road hideout, officers arrested the 42-year-old Singaporean and a 61-year-old male Singaporean — a suspected drug abuser. They seized about 280g of heroin and 16g of ice from the place, and about 450g of heroin from a car driven by the 42-year-old.
Later, they raided the 42-year-old’s hideout at Woodlands Crescent and found 30g of heroin, three Ermin-5 tablets and some drug paraphernalia. A suspected drug abuser there, a 42-year-old female Singaporean, was also arrested. The two Malaysians were caught by another group of officers and they recovered S$2,400 from the suspects.
