SINGAPORE — Tigerair will soon fly directly from Singapore to Ipoh four times a week, making it the first Singapore carrier to offer this service.
Tickets for the new route will go on sale from April 20 and the inaugural flight is scheduled for May 29, subject to regulatory approval, the budget carrier said today (March 31). Flight time will be about 1 hour and 20 minutes each way.
Ipoh is Tigerair’s fourth Malaysian destination, adding to Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Penang. The Ipoh service will be operated by an Airbus 320 aircraft and can carry 1,440 passengers per week, Tigerair added.
“We are excited to add Ipoh to our growing Asia network and be the first to operate jet flights in Ipoh. Tigerair already enjoys a significant presence in Malaysia and this addition will help meet demand for both leisure and business travel between Singapore and Malaysia,” said Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Executive of Tigerair.
