Traffic Police HQ, eateries in Sembawang, Yishun and East Coast among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — Eateries in Sembawang, Yishun and East Coast have been added to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Thursday (July 16) that the infectious persons had visited:

• Tekka Centre on July 3 between 10am and 4pm

• Resorts World Sentosa casino on July 4 between 11.30am and 1.30pm, on July 5 between 12.35am and 2.30am, and on July 6 between 10.30pm and 12am

• Sheng Siong supermarket at New World Centre in Jalan Besar on July 6 between 4pm and 4.30pm

• Giant Express supermarket at 284 Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 on July 6 between 8.10pm and 9pm

• The Traffic Police headquarters at 10 Ubi Avenue 3 on July 7 between 11.05am and 11.50am

• Master Prata restaurant at Sembawang Shopping Centre on July 8 between 1.20pm and 2.35pm

• Alsalam Restaurant at 427 East Coast Road on July 9 between 4pm and 4.30pm

• Malaysia Chiak! Eatery at Northpoint City mall in Yishun on July 9 between 7.30pm and 9.50pm

• O’Coffee Club Xpress at Northpoint City mall on July 10 between 12.55pm and 2pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who had been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH added.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Thursday, MOH reported 248 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore. Of these, 11 are identified as cases in the community, four are imported while the remaining 233 are foreign workers staying in dormitories.
