Malaysia to maintain petrol subsidies; PM Anwar says supply sufficient until at least May

The Malaysian government has announced it will maintain petrol subsidies for citizens, while introducing other austerity measures to manage the economic impact from the Middle East conflict.  Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia has enough petroleum to meet domestic demand until at least May. To monitor the broader economic impact, the government is setting up a special task force led by Second Finance Minister Amir Hamzah to track global developments and assess risks to Malaysia's economy.
