Tourism industry welcomes move to allow new lodging projects in heritage precincts

Businesses have welcomed plans by the government to allow more hotels and hostels in Beach Road and Boat Quay, saying the move could help bring in more visitors and boost activity in the area. But while some established hotels see opportunities to tap growing tourism demand, smaller ones are concerned that additional accommodation options could intensify competition. Beatrice Yap reports.
