Some analysts say Mr Xi's visit reflects a shifting balance of power in Northeast Asia. For years, China was North Korea's dominant economic and diplomatic partner. But Russia's growing ties with Pyongyang have changed that dynamic, with military cooperation and trade reducing North Korea's reliance on Beijing.
