British Foreign Secretary Cooper arrives in India for first official visit

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is in New Delhi for her first official visit to India. She will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The UK says the visit is aimed at deepening cooperation with India, which it calls a top priority partner. Talks are expected to focus on reviewing progress under the UK-India Vision 2035 partnership, which the two sides endorsed last year. Trade is high on the agenda. The trip building on a visit by UK Business and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle, earlier this week. Ms Cooper's India visit comes just after her trip to China where she met senior Chinese officials as part of a wider push to engage Asian countries. Ishan Garg reports from New Delhi.
